Isang batang babae ang nakatayo sa harap niya — nanginginig, kinakabahan, pero matapang.

“Sir…”
She swallowed hard.
“I think you know my mother.”

It was early — too early for visitors.
The sun had barely risen, and the Lim household was still wrapped in quiet morning calm. Richard was on his way to the kitchen when a soft, hesitant knock echoed through the hallway.

He frowned.
Who would visit at this hour?

He opened the door.

A girl stood there — around twelve or thirteen, clutching a small backpack, her eyes red as if she hadn’t slept. She looked up at him with a mixture of fear and determination.

“Sir…”
Her voice trembled.
“I think you know my mother.”

Richard froze.

The girl took a shaky breath and held out an envelope — old, worn, and carefully protected.

“My mom told me… if anything ever happened… I should find you.”

Richard’s heartbeat quickened.
He didn’t recognize the girl — but the envelope?
His name was written on it. In handwriting he hadn’t seen in years.

Before he could speak, Maya appeared behind him, still in her robe, concern written all over her face.

“Richard? Who is—”

The girl turned to her, eyes softening just a little.

“I’m sorry po… I didn’t know where else to go.”

Richard gently guided her inside.

“What’s your name?” he asked.

She hesitated.
“Isabella. But… people call me Bella.”

Maya knelt beside her, voice warm and steady.
“Bella, you’re safe here. We’ll help you. Whatever this is… we’ll figure it out together.”

Richard opened the envelope.

Inside was a single letter.
And a photograph.

A photograph of him…
Standing beside a woman he once helped through his foundation — years ago.

His breath caught.

This wasn’t a coincidence.
This wasn’t random.

This was the beginning of something he never expected.
