The package never arrived.

Then an email arrived.

At 2:20 AM.

Not an apology.

Not a refund.

Not an explanation.

A question.

Why did she dispute the charge?

The package was missing.

The audacity was not.

⭐ “The 2:20 AM Email”

Category: Shopping & Delivery Diaries • Suite & Stories

Emma Rivera was asleep.

At least she was trying to be.

Her package was missing.

Her tracking updates were suspicious.

Her customer service conversations had already consumed enough emotional energy to power a small city.

Yet somehow…

The saga wasn’t finished.

At exactly 2:20 AM, her phone lit up.

An email.

Emma didn’t see it until morning.

Which was fortunate.

Because if she had seen it at 2:20 AM, there was a strong possibility she would’ve responded using only capital letters.

The next morning she grabbed her coffee.

Checked her messages.

And froze.

The package was still missing.

But apparently an email had successfully located her.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

She opened it.

Read it.

Then read it again.

Then a third time just to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating.

The email wanted to know why she disputed the charge.

Emma looked around her kitchen.

The missing package wasn’t there.

The explanation seemed obvious.

Yet somehow a discussion had begun.

At lunch she called Liam.

Because every package mystery requires a witness.

“Liam.”

“Good morning.”

“It is not a good morning.”

“Package?”

“Email.”

“Oh no.”

“Exactly.”

Liam sighed.

“The package that never arrived is asking questions?”

“The email is.”

“Honestly, at this point they’re the same character.”

Fair.

Very fair.

The rest of the day became a comedy of screenshots.

Tracking updates.

Case numbers.

Emails.

More emails.

Reference numbers.

Emma had accumulated enough documentation to qualify for a minor degree in package studies.

Meanwhile the package itself remained unavailable for comment.

That evening she checked her account.

A Wells Fargo notification appeared.

For one beautiful moment she experienced hope.

Then caution.

Then hope again.

Package trauma changes people.

“What’s it say?” Liam texted.

“I don’t know.”

“Afraid to look?”

“Yes.”

“You’ve become dramatic.”

“I’ve become experienced.”

Huge difference.

A few days later another order arrived.

This one actually reached the correct address.

No mystery.

No detective work.

No email sequel.

Just a package.

Delivered.

Properly.

Emma stared at it suspiciously.

Healthy package deliveries now felt unnatural.

Eventually she realized something.

The package story wasn’t frustrating anymore.

It was content.

The stress had turned into comedy.

The confusion had turned into stories.

And somehow the 2:20 AM email had become more memorable than the actual items she’d ordered.

Life is funny that way.

Sometimes the thing you’re waiting for never arrives.

And the story you never wanted becomes the one everyone remembers.

A one-shot moment — inspired by true events, powered by caffeine, and dedicated to everyone who’s ever opened an email and immediately regretted it.
