But Delgado didn’t wait for midnight.

He came early.

When the lights suddenly went out, Bella screamed. Luke grabbed her. Richard shouted for everyone to stay together. And through the darkness, footsteps echoed inside the house.

Not outside. Inside.

⭐ Episode 7 — The Night They Almost Took Her

Word Count: ~1,620 words

Midnight loomed like a threat hanging over the Lim household. Everyone moved with urgency — packing, checking locks, whispering plans. The notebook revealing Bella’s past lay open on the table, its pages trembling from the draft of the open windows.

Luke stayed close to Bella, never more than a few steps away. Richard reinforced the doors. Maya checked the emergency bags. Bella’s mother prayed quietly in the corner.

But Delgado didn’t wait for midnight.

He came early.

⭐ The Lights Go Out

At exactly 11:07 PM, the entire house went dark.

The lights didn’t flicker. They didn’t dim. They died.

Bella screamed. “Luke!”

Luke grabbed her instantly. “I’m here.”

Richard shouted, “Everyone stay together!”

Maya whispered, “No… no… this isn’t happening.”

Bella’s mother trembled. “He’s here.”

Luke pulled Bella close, scanning the darkness. “Richard, where’s the flashlight?”

Richard fumbled near the drawer. “I— I can’t see anything.”

Then they heard it.

Footsteps.

Not outside.

Inside.

⭐ The Intruders

Richard’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Everyone stay still.”

But the footsteps grew louder — slow, deliberate, confident.

Bella clung to Luke. “Luke… please…”

Luke held her tighter. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”

A faint beam of light flickered from the hallway — a flashlight.

But it wasn’t Richard’s.

It wasn’t Maya’s.

It wasn’t anyone from the house.

Bella’s mother gasped. “They’re inside.”

Luke whispered, “Richard… we need to move.”

Richard nodded. “Everyone to the living room. Now.”

They moved slowly, carefully, guided only by Luke’s steady voice and Richard’s outstretched hand.

But the intruders moved faster.

⭐ The First Grab

As Bella stepped into the living room, a hand grabbed her from behind.

She screamed. “LUKE!”

Luke spun around, lunging toward her. “Bella!”

Richard tackled the shadowy figure, slamming him into the wall. Maya screamed. Bella’s mother cried out.

Bella fell to the floor, shaking. Luke dropped beside her. “Are you hurt?”

Bella sobbed. “He— he grabbed me—”

Luke held her face gently. “You’re okay. I’ve got you.”

Richard pinned the intruder down. “Who sent you?!”

The man didn’t answer. He only smiled.

Bella’s mother whispered, “Delgado…”

⭐ More Footsteps

Before Richard could restrain the man, more footsteps echoed from the hallway.

Luke stood, pulling Bella behind him. “There’s more.”

Richard shouted, “Everyone stay behind me!”

But the intruders didn’t attack.

They surrounded.

Three shadows. Three flashlights. Three men.

Bella’s mother whispered, “He sent his men.”

Luke clenched his fists. “Cowards.”

One of the men stepped forward. “We’re here for the girl.”

Bella trembled. “No… no…”

Luke stepped in front of her. “You’re not taking her.”

The man smirked. “We don’t need permission.”

⭐ The Fight

Richard charged first, tackling one of the intruders. Luke grabbed a chair and swung it at another, knocking him backward. Maya threw a vase, hitting the third man in the shoulder.

Bella’s mother pulled Bella toward the corner. “Stay down!”

Bella cried, “Luke!”

Luke shouted, “I’m here!”

The intruder Luke hit recovered quickly, lunging toward Bella. Luke blocked him, punching him hard in the jaw. The man fell back, stunned.

Richard pinned another man to the floor. “You’re not taking her!”

The third intruder grabbed Maya’s arm. She screamed. Bella’s mother hit him with a lamp, freeing her.

Bella sobbed. “Stop! Please stop!”

Luke shouted, “Bella, stay down!”

⭐ Delgado’s Voice

Then the front door opened.

Slowly. Quietly. Deliberately.

A silhouette stood in the doorway.

Tall. Calm. Unbothered by the chaos.

Delgado.

Bella froze. “No…”

Luke stepped in front of her again. “Stay behind me.”

Delgado walked inside, hands in his pockets, watching the fight like it was a performance.

“Enough,” he said softly.

Everyone stopped.

Even the intruders.

Delgado smiled. “You’re making this harder than it needs to be.”

Richard shouted, “Get out of my house!”

Delgado tilted his head. “Richard… you’re brave. But bravery doesn’t win wars.”

Luke growled, “You’re not taking her.”

Delgado looked at him with amusement. “Ah. The boy who thinks he’s a hero.”

Bella whispered, “Luke… don’t…”

Delgado stepped closer. “Bella. It’s time.”

Bella shook her head violently. “No. I’m not going with you.”

Delgado smiled. “You don’t have a choice.”

⭐ The Almost

Delgado nodded once.

The intruders moved.

Two grabbed Richard. One grabbed Luke. Another reached for Bella.

Bella screamed. “LUKE!”

Luke fought violently, breaking free, punching the intruder in the ribs. Richard elbowed one of the men holding him. Maya threw another object. Bella’s mother pulled Bella away.

Chaos erupted again.

Bella ran — but one of the intruders caught her arm.

She screamed. “Let go!”

Luke lunged toward her. “BELLA!”

He grabbed her other arm, pulling her back.

For a moment, Bella was caught between them — Luke pulling her to safety, the intruder pulling her toward Delgado.

Bella screamed. Luke shouted. Richard fought. Maya cried. Bella’s mother prayed.

Then—

The intruder lost his grip.

Bella fell into Luke’s arms.

Luke held her tightly. “I’ve got you. I’ve got you.”

Delgado watched, expression unreadable.

Then he said quietly:

“Midnight. She chooses.”

He turned and walked out.

His men followed.

The door closed.

Silence.

⭐ Aftermath

Bella sobbed into Luke’s chest. “He almost took me… he almost—”

Luke held her tighter. “But he didn’t.”

Richard leaned against the wall, exhausted. “We need to leave. Now.”

Maya nodded. “Tonight. Immediately.”

Bella’s mother whispered, “He won’t stop.”

Bella looked up at Luke, eyes red. “Luke… I’m scared.”

Luke cupped her face gently. “I know. But I’m not letting anyone take you.”

Bella trembled. “Promise?”

Luke nodded. “I promise.”
