But today, someone was sitting there.

A man.

Reading a book with the kind of focus that made him look like he belonged there.

Mia froze.

He looked up.

Their eyes met.

He blinked, startled. “Oh—sorry. Is this your spot?”

He stood immediately. “I can move.”

“No, it’s okay,” she said quickly. “You’re already settled.”
